I launched Calibrated Peer Review last summer with my English 1A class. They did quite well with it. My assignments were short, but they were more writing-to-learn assignments than writing-to-show-me-you-can-write-an-argument-essay assignments. I would actually like to try using a longer essay assignment on CPR, but I'll have to work it on it not read, not garden, not play with my granddaughters, not etc. You've heard it all before. I do think that CPR can be a real asset if instructors carefully craft their assignments or use the assignments from the UCLA site that have been carefully crafted.
